Tough Resin

Overview

Tough Resin combines the excellent surface finish and precision of SLA with ABS-like mechanical properties. It bridges the gap between visual prototyping and functional testing, allowing you to create parts that both look great and withstand moderate mechanical stress.

Key Properties

Tough Resin offers improved impact resistance (25-40 J/m) and higher elongation at break (20-30%) compared to Standard Resin, while maintaining the smooth surface finish and tight tolerances SLA is known for.

Advantages

• ABS-like impact resistance and toughness
• Maintains excellent SLA surface finish
• Higher elongation than standard resin — bends before breaking
• Good for functional fit and snap-fit testing
• Tight tolerances for precision assemblies

Limitations

• Still less impact-resistant than actual ABS or nylon
• UV sensitivity — not ideal for long-term outdoor use
• Smaller build volume than FDM or SLS
• Higher cost than Standard Resin
