When should You not Choose PETG?
Although PETG is a strong and durable material that performs excellently in many situations, it is not always the best choice. For example, if your project contains parts that are exposed to very high temperatures — above approximately 80 °C — PETG may soften and lose its shape. Also, if you want very sharp details or an extremely smooth, matte finish, PLA is often a better option. In addition, PETG is slightly more difficult to post-process; sanding and painting require more time and effort.
In short: PETG is ideal for functional and sturdy parts, but less suitable when extreme precision or a specific finish is more important than strength.
